
Located in the Village with spectacular views of the valley, Yallingup Residence is designed by Wright Feldhusen Architects as the residence of the Client’s family vacation. The main living area is a large glass pavilion that sits on top of a boulder suit bedrooms are located on the hill. It provides perfect sound privacy and separation of the activities above. This house has undergone renovations in the main level and adding a second level with a significantly smaller footprint. There are four modern glass temples emerging from the base of white cement as the volume of light and defines the space between each other. Volume is light that is stitched together by a core circulation of black coated cradle extends to each space. In the Middle Ages the area, where the building is situated, was a cannon foundry. Customers bought a site where stood the old yellow brick lodge with a basement. Cleaning the plaster of a house revealed that the lodge had been built by ancient bricks which were made in a old Vilnius brick factories. Becouse of a historical and physical value of a house were considered to preserve it by wraping it with outer glass shape. Historical house structure have been carefully restored. The site of the Hospic building is confined by the slope of the hill Golovec next to the traffic heavy Hradeckega road. The new building is situated at the edge of the pitch and leans against the hill slope with its terraced retaining wall and terraces. Layout of the building is almost square with a central core. A staircase connecting common areas in all floors spirals around the central core. The ground floor is reserved for management and training, and there are rooms on the first and second floor. FBT Architects in collaboration with Perkins+Will designed this new 473,000 square foot high school for APS. The overall project includes three gymnasiums, a performing arts center, a black box theater, and classrooms to support 2,200 students. Read the rest of this entry »
